Newest Arrivals     (6/8/11 update)

New Buckling HerculesWe have a new arrival from another farm. Young dark brown buckling Hercules (see him at right) has joined the other young buck, Dark Night (see him below left), in the pen as they wistfully pine for the young does and butt heads from time to time.  All of the kids are growing well Young Buckling Dark Knightnow that the trauma of weaning has passed. The doelings will have about two years to enjoy their own pen.  There are usually three or four young does of the same age enjoying their time until they become nannies. The young bucklings may be in service by nine or ten months.
The current heat wave is tough on all the young kids.  Extra time while feeding is taken to observe the behavior and appearance for any signs of health issues.
