Our Olde English Babydoll Southdown Sheep

We became shepherds of our first Babydoll sheep (see twins Dahlia and Daisy2 in picture) in June of 2007.  But, our experience with sheep Dahlia and Daisy2, the first two sheep we purchased to start our flock.actually began many years before when our children were involved in Future Farmers of America (FFA at Claremore, Ok, High School). During those years we learned a lot from the Ag instructor and other knowledgeable FFA parents.  Those experiences gave us only a glimpse of the responsibilities and liabilities of owning our own flock of sheep.

Dahlia and Daisy2 were the first two ewes purchased for our flock.

We are enrolled in the Volunteer Scrapies Program

Shepherding is a fulltime job, but, satisfying work most of the time.

Though we have many books on raising sheep,A different sheep named Daisy smiling for the camera. more and more often we turn to the internet to learn about different ways of resolving problems and challenges we encounter with the Babydoll sheep here in Oklahoma. (But, anyone can can "publish" to the internet, so, wisely choose and/or consult your vet with what you learn.)  Armed with those resources and our hands-on experience, we have become more and more confident as we shepherd our flock of miniature sheep.

Our sheep are registered with Olde English Babydoll Southdown Sheep Registry (Robert Mock).
